Hello fellow Planeswalkers!  Welcome to Standard Weekly!

This week we are looking at Selesnya Enchantments.  One of the decks I feel is well positioned to take on more of a roll in standard.  For this week, I have done a video with some game play footage.  Here is the deck.

  • 2 Skrelv, Defector Mite

  • 4 Calix, Guided by Fate

  • 1 Katilda, Dawnhart Martyr

  • 4 Spirited Companion

  • 4 Jukai Naturalist

  • 4 Generous Visitor

  • 4 Kami of Transience

  • 4 Weaver of Harmony

  • 1 Commune with Spirits

  • 4 Michiko’s Reign of Truth

  • 4 Audacity

  • 4 Ossification

LANDS: (20)

  • 5 Plains

  • 5 Forest

  • 4 Brushland

  • 4 Razorverge Thicket

  • 2 Overgrown Farm

  • 2 Loran of the Third Path

  • 1 Heliod, the Radiant Dawn

  • 2 Seal from Existence

  • 3 Surge of Salvation

  • 3 Circle of Confinement

  • 2 Unlicensed Hearse

  • 2 Tranquil Fillback

The addition of Calix, Guided by Fate has brought the deck back to a playable state.  Calix is an enchantment creature with two good abilities.  First, when an enchantment enters the battlefield, you get to put a +1/+1 counter on a target creature.  Second, when an enchantment creature or enchanted creature does combat damage to a player, you get to create a copy of a target enchantment.  This allows you to creature a second copy of key creatures like Weaver of Harmony or an enchantment like Ossification.

I hope you enjoy the deck tech and game play footage!

I’ll see you next time!

Scott began playing Magic the Gathering in 1994.  His preferred format is standard.  Typically, you will see him playing aggro decks focused on quickly defeating his opponent but will pivot to midrange or control when standard is unfavorable for aggro decks.  He began creating Magic content in 2019.
